AI Yangjae Hub is seeking and recruiting glocalization* partners such as accelerators, investors, consultants or institutions capable of mentoring and supporting for AI(Artificial Intelligence) technology based startups in Seoul to go overseas.
Institutions wishing to participate as glocalization partners are requested to submit their applications by 20th of Oct., 2021@23:59(KST).
* Glocalization : Compound words of “Global” + “Localization”. It stands for total process and strategies when the company try to enter the specific local foreign markets.

Program Overview

Ｏbjectives
– (Discovery of AI startups) Discover and validate promising AI startups in Seoul
– (Business Development) Provide customized market validations and solutions for each participant
– (Preparation for Glocalization) Enhance cross-border business capabilities of AI startups for glocalization on-site program forthcoming next year

Key Details
– Number of participants(AI startups) : 5 AI startups for each program
– Number of partners(Glocalization partners) : 2 partners
* Priorities will be provided to the selected partners for on-site program next year
– Target regions : The U.S. and(or) Asia Countries
– Program method: Online
* The details of online program will be proposed by the partners
– Budget : Up to KRW 35 million for each program(partner)
– Program period : 4~6 weeks

Recruitment Overview

Recruitment Period : From 23rd of Sep. to 20th of Oct., 2021@23:59(KST)

Number of Recruitment : 2 Partners (One partner per country or region)
– 1 partner for the U.S. market and 1 partner for the Asian market

Key Roles of Glocalization Partners
– (Selection) Review and evaluate applications of candidates jointly to select promising AI startups(participants)
– (Planning) Discuss KPIs and program activities proposed with AI Yangjae Hub and revise the details for the participants
– (Training) Provide the selected participants with structured training such as educating, coaching and mentoring regarding market and ecosystem overview, business development, value proposition, global market entry, pitching, and so on
– (Supporting) Outreach potential clients/partners for each participant and help them be prepared for business meetings regarding contract, PoC, licensing, distribution, investment, and so on
– (Reporting) Submit a report indicating activities, achievement, and analytical information of each participant after completion of the program

Qualifications for Glocalization Partners
– International Institutions or companies which are able to assign at least one designated staff to communicate with AI Yangjae Hub
– International Institutions or companies which have more than 5 years experience of investing in overseas startup(s) or operating acceleration(training/supporting) programs for overseas startups
– International Institutions or companies which possess the network consists of at least 10 experts and/or mentors specialized in AI, business development, market entry, and so on
– International Institutions or companies which possess the network consists of at least 10 potential partners/clients in the U.S. and Asia countries
– Consortiums apply is allowed
– One participant of the consortium should be designated as the leader and take all the responsibility for the program

Operation Schedule

* There are more than 200 AI startups membered in AI Yangjae Hub

Evaluation Criteria

Capabilities of candidate
– Track records and achievements (ex, investments, operation of accelerations, etc) of candidate
– Understanding of the startup and ecosystem in their region
– Clients/partners network in the region
– Excellence of internal and external personnel who can be deployed in the program

Program detail and operation plan
– Appropriateness of Milestones and KPIs
– Originality and Concreteness of program contents (ex, lectures, mentoring, outreach)
– Feasibility of the operation plan
– Proactiveness for the program

Appropriateness of the program’s operating cost
– Adequacy of detailed cost calculations for the program based on KRW 30million

Others
– Additional factors regarding the program

Precautions

* Applications in a false entry or in violation of the official notice will be excluded
* If the candidates intentionally or negligently imitate or steal other institution’s project, the selection will be cancelled
* Submitted documents will not be returned
